Mowing and Mulching Systems for Horticulture and Viticulture The Right Mower for Every Row.

From grass management to post-harvest mulching, there’s a Trimax mower for every application on the orchard or vineyard.

Why Orchardists and Growers Choose Trimax Mowers.

Finish Quality.

Whether mowing grass between rows or mulching prunings, Trimax delivers a clean finish. The result speaks for itself at the end of every pass.

Handles Whatever the Season Throws at It.

From short cover crops to heavy, persistent grass growth and orchard prunings, Trimax machines handle varied and demanding material without damage or downtime.

One Pass Instead of Two.

Adjustable discharge control lets operators switch between mulching and mowing applications without stopping. Tasks that previously required two passes now get done in one, at higher ground speeds.

Built to Last.

Trimax machines are engineered for the demands of commercial production, not weekend use. Robust construction, quality components, and minimal wear points mean operators spend their time in the orchard, not the shed.

Minimal Maintenance.

Wash it down, grease a couple of points, keep working. Trimax operators report maintenance that takes minutes rather than hours, season after season.

Support That Keeps You Moving.

Parts availability and responsive dealer support have kept Trimax operators working for decades. Equipment downtime in a production orchard or vineyard has a real cost, and Trimax dealers understand that.

Trusted by Orchardists and Growers Across New Zealand.

“You just mow over it, no problem at all. It’s fantastic and I wish I got one earlier.”

David Binney

Avocado Orchardist
“It’s been a fantastic all-purpose mulcher on a kiwifruit orchard. The service and the quality of their machinery is second to none.”

Jonathan Nicholl

Kiwifruit Orchardist
“As with all Trimax gear I’ve had in the past, nothing breaks on it. There’s no debris going under the tractor, nothing breaks on it.”

Compact Flail Mower for Tight Spaces.

Handles small prunings and vegetation up to 25mm in diameter, as well as long grass. Compact enough for tight row widths, with safe downward clipping dispersal and a full-width rear roller.

  • Cutting widths: 1.35m, 1.55m, 1.85m
  • Mulching capacity: Up to 25mm diameter
  • Minimum PTO: From 17hp

Warlord S3

Heavy-Duty Flail Mulcher.

Handles long and short grass, prunings and branches up to 75mm in diameter. Hydraulic side shift up to 500mm for working close to row boundaries without repositioning the tractor. Manually adjustable rear flap controls mulch coarseness.

  • Cutting widths: 1.75m, 2.05m, 2.35m
  • Mulching capacity: Up to 75mm diameter
  • Minimum PTO: From 40hp

Force S2

Heavy-Duty Flail Mulcher. Maximum Versatility.

Built tougher than the Warlord with a heavier-duty flail system and reinforced headstock. Hydraulic rear flap adjusts discharge on the move. Handles heavy prunings, cover crops, and long grass in a single pass. Hydraulic side shift available.

  • Cutting widths: 1.45m, 1.60m, 1.75m, 2.05m, 2.35m

Not Sure Which Mower Suits Your Orchard or Vineyard?

Every operation is different. Tell us about your rows, your crop, and your conditions and a Trimax specialist will recommend the right system.

Frequently Asked Questions.

What is hydraulic side-shift and do I need it?

Hydraulic side-shift allows you to offset the mower from the tractor centreline without repositioning the tractor, useful for working close to tree trunks, irrigation lines, and row stays. If your orchard has irregular obstacles or tight row boundaries, it saves significant time across a season. Both the Warlord S3 and Force S2 offer hydraulic side-shift up to 500mm.

Can one machine handle both grass management and pruning mulch?

A heavy-duty flail mulcher handles both jobs and is the right choice for operations where simplicity and a single implement matter. For larger or more intensive operations, pairing a dedicated inter-row rotary mower for grass with a flail mulcher for prunings delivers better productivity. Each machine is optimised for its application, covering more ground per hour at lower running cost. Talk to a Trimax specialist about your property size and workload and we can recommend the right setup.

What is the difference between the Warlord S3 and the Force S2?

Both are heavy-duty flail mulchers suited to orchard and vineyard applications. The Warlord S3 handles branches and prunings up to 75mm in diameter and suits most commercial orchard operations. The Force S2 has a reinforced headstock, a heavier-duty flail system, and a hydraulic rear flap adjustable on the move. It is the better choice for the most demanding conditions or where switching between applications without stopping is important.

How much tractor horsepower do I need?

It depends on the machine and the application. Compact flail mowers for light work start from 17hp PTO. Heavy-duty machines handling thick prunings need 45hp and above. Always check PTO horsepower, not engine horsepower, and build in a 10 to 15 percent buffer above the stated minimum for consistent performance in heavy material.

What maintenance does an orchard mower require?

This varies significantly between machines. Some require daily greasing at multiple points. 15 to 20 minutes per day across a full season adds up to significant labour cost. Trimax machines use sealed bearing systems that eliminate daily greasing requirements. Blade replacement is unavoidable but frequency depends on soil conditions and material type.
